At Good Pantry, we offer an extensive selection of over three hundred ethically sourced culinary ingredients, catering to a wide range of dietary preferences and cooking styles. Our inventory includes a variety of non-perishable food items such as grains, nuts, seeds, spices, dried fruits, pasta, flour, snacks and household supplies. In addition, we will provide “branded” pre-packed prepared food items, ensuring that our customers have access to a diverse range of food options year-round.

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing store operations to ensure

profitability, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction. This role helps implement company

policies, assists in supervising staff, and contributes to initiatives that support sales and budget goals.

The Assistant Manager acts as a leader on the floor and steps in when the General Manager is

unavailable.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Staff Support

Assist with recruiting, training, and onboarding new employees.

Supervise, coach, and motivate staff during shifts to drive performance and productivity.

Support the creation and management of work schedules.

Provide input on performance feedback and help address day-to-day employee concerns.

Contribute to fostering a positive, collaborative, and respectful workplace culture.

Store Operations

Help oversee daily store operations, including opening/closing, cash handling, and security

procedures.

Assist with inventory management through ordering, stocking, and rotation to minimize waste.

Conduct and/or support monthly inventory counts.

Maintain store appearance and ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment.

Support compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and all regulatory

requirements.

Customer Service

Respond to customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.

Model and reinforce customer service standards with staff.

Help create a welcoming, customer-focused environment.

Reporting Structure

Reports directly to the General Manager.

Provides day-to-day supervision of store associates.

Pay Structure

Compensation: $58,750 - $64,000

Employment Type: Full-time (35-40hrs/Week)

Benefits: Employee discount, PTO eligibility (after 90 days), and California sick leave.
