Description Our client, a leading private foundation based in Chula Vista, is seeking a talented Grant Accountant to join their growing team. Oversee the financial tracking, reporting, and compliance of grant funds, ensuring proper allocation and use of resources.

Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports related to grant-funded projects, including detailed expenditure tracking, variance analysis, and reconciliation of accounts.

Work with project managers and program directors to develop and manage grant budgets, ensuring that expenditures align with funding guidelines and corporate objectives.

Ensure compliance with funding agency regulations, corporate policies, and industry standards, including the preparation of necessary documentation and reports.

Assist in the preparation of documentation for both internal and external audits, ensuring that grant-related financial records are accurate and complete.

Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes related to grants, ensuring efficiency and consistency in financial reporting and record-keeping.

Work closely with other departments, including legal, program management, and external partners, to ensure alignment between financial tracking and program goals.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

2+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on grant management, preferably in a private sector or foundation environment.

Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant financial regulations, including grant compliance.

Experience with financial reporting, budget management, and audit preparation.

Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms) and advanced Excel skills.

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
