Job Description

The Opportunity:

The toy purchase cycle is rapidly evolving, and Mattel’s media mix is becoming more performance-based across new platforms. This requires skills in marketing strategy, technology, media, performance marketing, and omni-channel retail marketing. As the Sr Manager, Digital Media you will be responsible for the cross-platform development, activation, measurement and media optimization of all Retail Media investments to convert toy shoppers into consumers of our vast product portfolio.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Deliver measurable ROI and incremental sales as measured through performance media KPI’s
  • Create full-funnel media strategies to drive demand and conversion through retail and digital media
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across marketing, sales, media, agencies, finance, and research
  • Provide Retail Media strategy and activation expertise
  • Lead the advancement of capabilities and understanding of the evolving Retail Media landscape across the organization.
  • Develop strategies on how to leverage retailer platforms as media and data providers to uncover opportunities around process and create best practices for brands to leverage
  • Collaborate with internal partners to develop recommendations inclusive of establishing KPIs and measurement criteria
  • Provide activation strategies and plans that influence shopper behaviors in the marketplace
  • Leverage full-funnel paid media recommendations for stronger holistic impact
  • Create & activate Retail Media programs using tactics including display and search
  • Deploy Media best practices and establish guidelines for Retail Media, especially as it relates to performance, transparency, and efficiency
  • Lead assessment, RFP and deliverables of Retail Media agency partners
  • Leverage retail media partners, industry groups to continuously bring emerging opportunities, technologies and platforms to enhance our recommendations and activations for increased business impact
  • Educate and train Marketing and Sales on the evolving retail media landscape
  • Manage retail media budgets
  • Develop strategies to grow Mattel’s share of the digital shelf
  • Partner with the operations team to grow organic results
  • Lead the retail media team, providing coaching and development opportunities for team members
  • Establish a culture of collaboration

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • 8-10 years’ of experience at Client or Agency leading strategic planning and activation with a focus on performance media, eCommerce, and Retail Media
  • Toy, Kid, Entertainment, Retail, or CPG experience
  • Retail Media expertise working with partners like Walmart Media Group, Criteo, Roundel, and Amazon Advertising
  • Experience with platforms such as CitrusAd, Pavue, or Perpetua
  • Experience leading the development of strategic Retail Media recommendations
  • Investment and activation experience with performance-based digital media, Paid Search, and Retail Media
  • Demonstrated business performance success
  • Experience with a matrixed organization
  • Results/Performance Driven
  • Experience developing relationships with internal teams, agencies as well as retail media partners
  • Experience working with data: media analysis, media mix models, multi-touch attribution models, digital attribution, consumer research, and shopper insights
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of media strategy and the role of performance and retail media
  • Understanding of media and retail partners, technologies and platforms
  • Media Operations (Budgets, Reporting, Billing, etc.)
