KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for HEAD OF TRADING AND INVESTMENT TECHNOLOGY for one of our prestigious hedge fund clients, with over 150 billion in assets. The role is located in Los Angeles, CA and requires the candidate to be onsite 3 days a week in a hybrid environment. Client's Information Technology team is seeking a proven, successful, hands-on Technology Leader to transform and lead all aspects of Investment and Trading Technology.Work closely with the CIO as a member of the IT Management Team (ITMT) to create and grow a high performing, respected, trusted, and effective professional IT department. As a member of the ITMT, provide unified leadership to IT and help run the management of the department "as a business" in the model of a professional services firm. ITMT members lead by example with diversity and inclusion, and work to maximize employee engagement.Establish a long-term investment and trading systems vision based on business drivers and needs and develop a strategy and technical roadmap.Build a successful partnership with senior business leaders in the investment and non-investment teams.Embrace Agile and use Jira/Confluence to manage development of a home-built Portfolio Construction application Summit for multiple investment teams.Oversee implementation of a new Portfolio Company management platform (Mercatus) for closed end strategies. Implement a replacement CLO Optimization tool and retire legacy CDO Suite application. Partner with Data Technology team and Client/Marketing/CAO technology teams to embrace & drive adoption of dashboard and reporting platforms, and install permanent information walls technology, respectively. Drive the elimination of one-off solutions and redundant tools and minimize technical debt.Monitor the product landscape to bring in ideas and opportunities for innovation as trusted partner to business.Manage a team of >20 developers, analysts, and global support teams to manage BAU across multiple business operations including investment, trading, trade support, and compliance. Solve problems, troubleshoot, and provide calm, hands-on leadership during challenging periods.Build a business-driven annual budget and manage spend, carefully determining trade-offs when necessary.Prioritize strong hiring with cultural fit, collaboration, and work ethic with retention. Provide inspirational leadership to create effective employee engagement and satisfaction of all IT employees.Stay knowledgeable of industry and technical trends, bringing ideas in to ensure modernization and innovation.

Minimum 15 years' total experience in technology leadership, with at least 10 in asset management, and at least 10 leading significant data technology teams and projects.Knowledge of alternative asset management industry terms and concepts highly preferable.Experience with Everest, Mercatus, or similar competitor apps required.Understanding of trade communication protocols/tools like FIX, SWIFT, XML, Omgeo CTM, ClearPar, Bloomberg VCON.Working knowledge in systems like Bloomberg Terminal, Investment Data and Pricing and Ratings sources, investment asset classes like Equity, Bonds, Derivatives and FX.Knowledge of low code/no code platforms and business process automation experience.Knowledge or certifications in any of Azure/AWS/GCP platforms helpful. Working knowledge in Agile methodology and Scrum/Lean frameworks.Excellent business acumen combined with creative problem solving.Results-driven, disciplined and hard-working. Track-record of success in increasing levels of responsibility.Experience of, and sophisticated approach to, multi-stakeholder relationship management.A high level of professional maturity and gravitas.A demonstrated ability to influence others at all levels in a very collaborative way. Superb communications skills and relationship building skills.Proven ability to attract and retain talent, with a focus on ensuring diversity and inclusion is highly prioritized.Strategic and visionary, yet hands-on and pragmatic.Perpetual learner, curious, not afraid to challenge other points of view, yet in respectful, constructive manner.Must possess strong integrity and professionalism and share the firm's common goal of excellence. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field is minimum requirements. MBA, Masters, or CFA designation would be considered a big plus.
