Head of Software Engineer

We are looking for an As Software Leader, you will be responsible for all elements of the software platform: mobile, web, cloud, data science, and AI. You will initially manage a small team of on-shore and off-shore engineers, serve as a senior individual contributor within the team and then help grow the team over time. Job Title: Head of Software EngineerLocation: Santa Clara, CA (hybrid 1-2 days weekly)

• Own the design, development, and delivery of the company’s software platform (Re-Platforming)
• Build a strong team of software and quality engineers
• Assume a hands-on role while growing the team
• Work effectively with other core functions, including
  Product Management, Hardware, and Firmware to deliver the complete solution
• Ensure the industry’s best Agile software practices are put in place and enforced

• Minimum BS degree in computer science or related disciplines
• Minimum of 5 years of industry experience
• Experience managing a team of at least 5 engineers
• Experience managing remote developers
• Demonstrated ability to hire great talent

• Hands-on experience building cross-platform mobile apps (React Natively preferred)
• Experience building cloud-based web applications are desired
• iOS and Android knowledge are helpful.
• Experience developing a combined hardware/software product is desired
• Experience with medical device software development requirements is preferred but not required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Fully versed in Agile practices and able to mentor the team in them
• Self-driven personality, startup mindset
• Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly, and master diverse technologies and techniques
• Professional, non-political, and team-oriented player; displays no hint of arrogance
