Organization:PAMF-Palo Alto Medical Foundation PADPosition Overview:Provides analytical support on projects related to implementation and administration of health and welfare benefit programs. Assists management in the review of policies and procedures, collecting, analyzing and interpreting data and statistics in the development, planning and execution of the system/region/ affiliate strategies. Provides cost analyses to support union contract negotiations. Coordinates with Sutter Health Shared Services, various insurance vendors, third party administrators and human resources (HR) staff to ensure that timely and appropriate governmental reporting requirements are met for various health and welfare plans. Researches, analyzes, evaluates current benefit trends and regulatory/legislated requirements and recommends programs/changes. Compiles, analyzes and reports benefit data including employee, benefit plan and financial for benefit's strategic planning and evaluation, best practices and benchmark surveys. Develops, conducts and participates in a variety of presentations to inform and educate management and employees about changes to benefit plans, administrative practices and legislated requirements and programs. Supports health & welfare consultants in completing complex analyses to support union contract negotiations and legally compliant health & welfare programs. Helps to research new laws and regulations to determine the impact on department programs, reporting requirements and communication implicationsJob Description :EDUCATION:Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.Bachelor's: Human Resources, Business Administration or related fieldTYPICAL EXPERIENCE:2 years recent relevant experienceSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:Department: Health & Welfare programs, demonstrated knowledge of federal regulations relating to Health & Welfare plans including ERISA, IRC and DOL is required. Knowledge of current trends/issues in the healthcare industry. Must have a working knowledge of Health & Welfare plan administration.
