High School Student Development Teacher/Counselor (PPS and Single Sub)

Working within the structures and systems of our Dual Enrollment partnerships with Bakersfield College, you will instruct Student Development B3 and lead supplemental college lab asynchronous course support. All incoming Grade 9 students will take STDV B3 in either the Fall or Spring to help prepare for success in dual enrollment and high school A-G courses. Additionally, other class blocks will feature Learning Labs and other content to help drive success in college and post-secondary learning.This course guides students through a decision-making process that will help them envision and plan for a future that is productive, achievable, and stimulating. The culmination of this process is the development of a career and educational plan that will create a pathway for students to reach their career and academic goals. Critical thinking skills will be utilized through a systematic approach to career development by examining values, interests, skills, life roles, personality types, personal self-management, decision-making, and goal setting throughout the life span.STDV B3 Career and Life Planning 3 units
