POSITION: HOUSEKEEPER/LAUNDRY ATTENDANT/COMMONS HOUSEKEEPING (Part-Time Non Exempt)
CURRENT OPENING (Non-Negotiable): Part Time and Full Time Positions Open
BASE PAY RATE: $18.00/hour
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To support the management team in providing first class service to our guests. To keep all areas of the hotel hygienically clean and safe in a professional manner. To uphold and maintain visual standards in all areas of the hotel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide exceptional customer service.
2. Making our guests’ experience the priority by showing professional courtesy.
3. Coordinate tasks with other members of hotel staff (e.g. front desk and maintenance.)
4. Effectively perform multiple operational roles as a Guest Room Attendant, Laundry Attendant and Commons Housekeeping.
5. Guest Room Attendant duties include making beds, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, replacing amenities, linens and terry and cleaning bathrooms; stocking, maintaining and transporting housekeeping carts on a daily basis; disposing trash and recyclables; responding to guest requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner. Must clean rooms according to company and brand standards.
6. Laundry Attendant duties include collecting, washing, drying, folding, and stocking hotel linen for use by other hotel staff; responding to guest requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
7. Commons Housekeeping duties include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, replacing amenities, linens and terry and cleaning of all hotel areas including but not limited to staff rooms, storage and utility rooms, and hotel public spaces such as the parking lot, hallways, walkways, staircases, lobby, etc.
8. Maintain an environment where all guests and employees are treated fairly, with dignity and respect.
9. Comply with all company policy and procedures.
10. Comply with all brand policies and procedures.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
1. Demonstrate a positive and constructive attitude.
2. Effective communication skills.
3. Effective organization skills with the ability to multitask.
4. Ability to work cooperatively with hotel guests and staff and vendors.
5. Be self-motivated with the ability to work responsibly and independently.
6. Ability to maintain composure and manage stressful situations when they occur.
7. Ability to read and recognize room numbers and housekeeping lists.
8. Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
9. Prior experience/employment in hospitality and/or professional cleaning preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to be active (bend, lift, stoop and kneel) and mobile continuously during your work shift (typically 6-8 hours).
2. Ability to work weekends and holidays with a flexible schedule (can work part time with the option of taking on any additional and available shifts).
3. Ability to lift and mobilize small to medium items up to 50 lbs. while utilizing appropriate safety techniques. Must be capable of pushing and/or pulling up to 200 lbs. while utilizing appropriate safety techniques.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent job experience.
REPORTS TO: General Manager or Assistant Manager.
