Description We are in search of a Human Resource Benefits Specialist to join our team based in Palm Springs, California. Operating in the Healthcare, Hospitals, and Social Assistance industry, the chosen candidate will be responsible for handling various tasks related to employee benefit plans, enrollment processes, and system updates. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, providing the chance to play a crucial role in managing and enhancing our HR practices.Responsibilities: Communicate updates on benefit plans to employees and ensure availability of current and accurate information on the intranet. Execute annual Open Enrollment events and fairs, and ensure all required documentation for benefit changes are collected and processed. Aid employees in the benefit enrollment process and accurately input benefit elections into relevant systems in a timely manner. Handle employee status changes affecting benefit eligibility, which includes updating benefit information in all relevant systems and dispatching documentation regarding changes in benefit eligibility. Collaborate with the Eligibility department and benefit account representatives to ensure accurate display of employee benefit elections across all systems. Process employee requests such as address change, Primary Care Physician (PCP) changes, and medical insurance card requests promptly. Manage requests for qualifying events and ensure all necessary documentation is received within established timeframes prior to processing. Conduct monthly audits of benefit elections and invoices, making necessary corrections or updates. Oversee current discounts/offers for employees and ensure the intranet site is up-to-date. Generate self-billing invoices for designated benefit accounts and send invoices to the Finance department for processing. Regularly update COBRA elections and eligibility, review COBRA premiums and invoices, and submit to the Finance department for processing. Present benefit package information during new hire orientation and provide new hires with benefit enrollment documents/information. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Human Resource Benefits Specialist role or similar within the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industry Proficient in Benefit Functions pertaining to healthcare and social assistance sectors Experience in Claim Administration within a healthcare or social assistance setting Knowledge and experience in Cobra Administration Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with employees, management, and vendors Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion Ability to analyze complex data and provide insights for decision-making Familiarity with local, state, and federal laws regarding employee benefits Proficient in using HRIS and benefits databases Excellent organizational and time management skills Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
