HVAC Mechanic - Temporary position, full-time, up to 6 months

Summary of Job Duties:

The HVAC Mechanic performs a variety of skilled tasks in connection with the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems & related equipment for the University owned Residence Halls, Apartments, Dining Commons & related buildings to accomplish the operational needs of the department. Works in a team environment that is ethnically diverse & culturally pluralistic.

Minimum Requirements:

4+ years of journeyman experience as a trades craftsman in the area of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), boiler systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with HVAC systems, or equivalent work experience.

Skills to use & maintain tools and equipment in a safe & secure manner.

Works effectively in a team environment.

Excellent interpersonal & customer service skills.

Preferred:

HVAC experience in commercial kitchens and/or relative work experience with emphasis on refrigeration, direct digital controls, & commercial food service equipment.

Special Conditions of Employment:

Satisfactory completion of a criminal history background check, required to hold a valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.

Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm

Full-time, temporary/limited position of 6 months
