Mercy Imaging Centers a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation provides cutting-edge diagnostic imaging services at 16 locations in the greater Sacramento and Woodland areas. Our team of 160 staff members work with our specialty trained and board certified radiologists to provide high quality care to our patients. The locations perform more than 175000 exams annually with the goal of providing top quality imaging compassionate care and timely service with a smile.ResponsibilitiesThe Imaging Procedures Coordinator interfaces with patients, surgery facility, anesthesiologists and providers to perform all functions related to the coordination of scheduling the interventional radiology procedure (includes Neurointerventional, Vascular and Oncology interventional). May be required to occasionally work at other locations within the Greater Sacramento Area as needed. This position may have access to third party credit card information and transactional systems (cash registers, point of sale devices, applications supporting credit card transactions, and reports or other documents containing credit card information) from single transactions or a single card at a time.
Logs and files all interventional procedure requests from the providers.
Ensures all pre-op forms (blood work, EKG, images, etc.) are completed prior to surgery or interventional radiology procedure
Collects all lab results, images, EKG, orders, etc. and fax to facility prior to scheduled day along with authorization forms.
Reviews and ensures all completed procedure and hospital encounter forms are obtained from providers.
Contacts health plans to obtain authorization for all interventional radiology procedures.
Schedules patients for consultations, pre and post procedure.
Schedules interventional radiology procedures in the ambulatory and hospital setting.
Performs data collection for research/clinical study procedures and tracks follow-up appointments for IVC filter removal and follow-up ancillary appointments following interventional procedures.
Relays messages to and from the patients and providers
Performs other duties as assigned
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
One (1) year experience in a surgery scheduling setting and/or minimum 2 years clinical back office experience
High School diploma or equivalent
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills are essential.
Keyboarding skills and the ability to utilize computer equipment and software are required as is experience with other types of standard office equipment
Team player, able to multi-task, self-starter, detail oriented and proactive
Preferred:
Certified Medical Assistant
Familiarity with an electronic practice management system
Experience with multi-line phones/ACD phones
Medical terminology
