Implementation Engineer (VLSI design)

Job Title - Implementation Engineer Location San Jose, California Location: Individual needs to be on-site 3-5 days per week. Santa Clara, CA. Job Duration: 2+ months Key responsibilities This role will develop scripts and methodologies to automate design construction and analysis. Solve issues relating to electrical and physical verification of on-chip hardware. Perform timing analysis for hardware containing interactions between multiple clock domains. Develop feedback to RTL team for physically-driven microarchitecture changes. Create schematics or gate netlists to meet high clock speed constraints from RTL. Manage data for shared design across multiple projects. A candidate for this position should have a background that includes cell-based design in both a semi-custom environment as well as a synthesis environment. Experience and Education: 5-7 years of experience in VLSI design of microprocessors, microcontrollers, DSPs, FPGAs or High speed ASIC; Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline; Background in scripting and design automation; Skilled with manual logic implementation and optimization; Cell-based design in semi-custom environment and synthesis environment using industry standard tools such as Design Compiler and IC compiler; Experience using static timing tools such Primetime, Nanotime. Experience with SPICE simulations; General knowledge of scripting and debugging; Experience with Perl, preferred; Languages: Verilog, C/C, Perl, and Python, preferred;
