Industrial Engineer II

The Industrial Engineer II plans, coordinates, and manages the company's SAP Master Data, Industrial Engineering Projects and Programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, Organize, and Manage Industrial Engineering Projects and Programs.
  • Implement New Products and Maintain Existing Products, consisting of Item Masters, Bills of Materials, and Bills of Operations, using SAP ERP and MES software.
  • Analyze, Document and Change New and Existing Routers/Bills of Materials, using SAP software.
  • Coordinate support on new Product Structures (KMAT and XMAT) and manage changes to meet production need. Communicate on a regular basis with other Master Data team at other plants.
  • Responsible for leading efforts in MES projects including implementation, documentation, testing, commissioning, and qualification.
  • Create and update Material Master Data in SAP.
  • Perform detailing and processing of Quality Notification in SAP.
  • Coordinate and interface with all Department Managers and Leads to understand their information needs related to custom product conversions to standard products and supports all product transfer SAP activities.
  • Support Industrial Engineer with data management between SAP and technical database.
  • Analyze and provide SAP reports as requested by Department Managers and Management.
  • Design workstations, fixtures and/or tools to assist in the production processes using CAD software.
  • Document and revise production processes as work instructions, digital procedures, or test procedures to be used as standard operating procedures by production.
  • Training production staff on new processes.
  • Prepare and analyze through various work measurement techniques, engineered time standards and performance measures required for performing various operations and introducing work simplification in order to reduce costs and eliminate motions.
  • Coordinate, assign, and track the completion of tasks by engineering and technical staff in accordance with established goals and work plans.
  • Introduce or recommend changes to work methods, safety measures and manufacturing procedures.
  • Develop and review work methods to improve efficiency and safety and determine appropriate layout for new or modified equipment and machinery.
  • Utilizes continuous improvement and lean manufacturing tools to identify opportunities and assess the techniques and equipment use in production processes to see if they can operate more efficiently.
  • Evaluates vendor proposals for new equipment purchases.
Required Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of Industrial Engineering, Project Management, and Technical Manufacturing experience is required, including some experience in a -leadership/supervisory capacity.
  • Knowledge of Project Management practices.
  • Knowledge of industrial engineering principles, standards and practices (LEAN manufacturing and Six Sigma).
  • Knowledge of Machine Shop procedures, safety practices, standard engineering methods, design and drafting standards, and basic manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of CAD Design Software applications.
  • Knowledge of principles of statistics, algebra and geometry.
  • Solve problems by identifying, approaching, and resolving problems in a methodical and timely manner.
  • Operate personal computer to utilize word processing, spreadsheets, and specialized applications.
  • Some international travel (2 weeks maximum - Germany)
