Akkodis is searching for an Infrastructure Engineer II to assist the Life Cycle Management Team in refreshing hardware and standardizing infrastructure throughout the organization and its affiliates.

Contract Type: 10+ month contract with possibility of extension

Location: Onsite in Sacramento, CA - Does require some travel to affiliate sites (Mileage is reimbursed for travel to different sites)

Pay Range: 55-65/hrly

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES: Network Infrastructure Life Cycle • Perform site surveys, defining current state and future state recommendations • Take current configuration and incorporate into network designs and network standards • Build a Bill of Materials (BoM) from gathered requirements and submit for ordering • Receive and provision new hardware • Navigate change management process and implement • Provide post-change support • Process e-waste • Document entire process

Experience Needed:
  • 3+ years proven experience in the engineering, implementation, operation, maintenance, and support of a wide range of server platforms, networking and/or storage devices.
  • 3+ years' experience working with change management practices.
  • Experience with Cisco LAN and WAN hardware (legacy and current).
  • Familiar with network closet infrastructure, including power and cooling requirements.
  • Layer 1 and network patching.
  • Frequent travel in Northern California region with night and occasional weekend work.
  • Elements of construction and "Field Engineering" background preferred

    • DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Department: Network specialty, Network specialty Network infrastructure which may include: Converged internet protocol (IP) networks, wireless local area network (WLAN), wide area network (WAN)/metropolitan area network (MAN), local area network (LAN), virtual private network (VPN)/Firewall. Transmission control protocol (TCP)/IP and open systems interconnection (OSI) model.

    Software skills: Microsoft Visio, Excel, SharePoint, and other standard Office applications. Experience with ServiceNow and change management. Work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction. Organize workflow to accomplish established objectives. Prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.
