Installation Designer Overall To join our Retail 3D/Visual Merchandising Design team, the client is looking for a mid-level designer with experience creating installations, retail/commercial interior spaces, or consumer products, lighting, and furniture. Within the Retail context, this person will be in charge of producing immersive retail displays and experiences. Working closely with the client's Retail, Marketing, Product Development/Engineering, and Industrial Design teams is required for this position. Location This role is based in Cupertino and there is a strong preference for candidates who will be able to join the team on campus weekly in our studio spaces. This role will work closely with other in person, on site teams including the client's Industrial Design team and Retail teams. Hard Skills: - Experience Design : 3D design knowledge; good understanding of spatial volume, integration of physical and digital concepts, and curation of space. Designing for user and behaviors.
- Product Design : Demonstrated use of drawing and sketching as a communication tool for ideas. Strong understanding of material processes in wood, metal, plastics, and soft goods. Physical prototyping, model making experience. Advanced level 3D modeling and rendering experience on Mac OS platforms.
- Graphic Design : Strong 2D communication and visual storytelling skills. Expert knowledge of core Adobe Creative Suite tools.
Soft Skills - Strong and demonstrated ability to improve and develop designs through an iterative process.- A deep appreciation for simple solutions to complex problems.- A passion for and exceptional eye for detail- Outstanding project management skills- Able to work within tight time frames Education & Professional Experience BFA in Industrial Design, Furniture/Interior Design, or similar field with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in a design agency or professional practice.
