Interior Design Assistant

Local Interior Design firm is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Interior Design Assistant to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Project Support

Assist lead designer with concept development, mood boards, color schemes, and space planning.

Create and update drawings, floor plans, elevations, and renderings using AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar software.

Source materials, furnishings, lighting, fabrics, finishes, and accessories in line with design direction and budget.

Assist in the preparation of presentation boards and client deliverables.

Client & Vendor Coordination

Communicate with clients regarding appointments, design approvals, schedules, and sample selections.

Liaise with vendors, showrooms, and suppliers to request quotes, samples, lead times, and place orders.

Track orders, deliveries, and installations while maintaining accurate records and schedules.

Project Administration

Maintain organized project documentation, including design notes, budgets, invoices, purchase orders, and product information.

Manage design library – organize samples, catalog new materials, and maintain supplier relationships.

Conduct on-site visits to assist with installations, measurements, photography sessions, and styling.

Support designers during client meetings and presentations by taking notes and providing materials.

Studio & Creative Tasks

Stay current with design trends, materials, and technologies to contribute fresh ideas to design concepts.

Support marketing efforts by contributing to social media posts, newsletters, and portfolio updates.

Proficiency in design software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/InDesign), or similar tools.

Strong visual, organizational, and communication skills.

Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Experience with sourcing, ordering, and vendor relations is a plus.

A positive, proactive attitude and a keen eye for aesthetics.
