IT Infrastructure Manager Duration: 9 month contract to hire (must be vaccinated) Location: Santa Barbara (Hybrid work schedule, but no requirement on how many days they need to be onsite. Local preferred, but if they are based in NoCal or SoCal, that is fine too.) Rate: $100 - 110/hr on w2 (Depending on the experience) Job Description: Under the supervision of the Director of Technology Operations, the Manager of IT Infrastructure is responsible for organizing, directing, and controlling the day to day IT infrastructure requirements to ensure that IT infrastructure and associated systems are functioning efficiently, effectively, and securely for a 24x7, mission critical, high availability, multisite enterprise. This is a multi-discipline position that requires breadth and depth of knowledge across a range of technical domains. More specifically, this functionality includes, but is not limited to, installation, management, maintenance, operations, and capacity planning surrounding a range of technical and administrative domains. Major Accountabilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the IT Engineering Operations staff which includes Active Directory, Citrix, Windows, Storage, VMWare, and Network Engineers. Interviews, selects, evaluates, trains, and coaches staff to provide effective infrastructure services for the hospital. Monitors staff performance, and provides counseling when necessary. • Collaborate closely with enterprise managed service providers on day to day and strategic operations. Also collaborate closely with internal IT employees from both technical and clinical domains.
• Manages the IT infrastructure following Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) based best practices and standards while using the Cottage Health's ITSM platform.
• Develops and creates standardized processes and procedures to guide documentation and knowledge base development for IT infrastructure operations support. Develops and supports standards for enterprise-wide use resources. Recommends enterprise level strategies and goals for infrastructure hardware and software procurement and deployment. Writes detailed scopes of work for staff projects.
• Utilize IT opex and capital budget processing along with other fundamental financial concepts such as cost benefit analysis ROI calculation to ensure budget compliance and forecasting.
• No direct reports, but will be managing a small local team of 5 based in Santa Barbara. Also will be overseeing Cottage's MSP partners.
• MSPs include Sirius/CDW, and take care of Wireless, A/V, InfoSec, IAM, and Service Desk for CH.

• Minimum: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or 8 years of equivalent experience
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

• Preferred: Microsoft, VMware, ITIL, Cisco, Juniper, Citrix Technical Requirements:
• Server hardware platforms Enterprise high density and stand-alone x86 server hardware platforms such as HP Blade System, Dell PowerEdge, and other brands.
• Windows Server Strong understanding of Windows Server operations and roles.
• Virtualization platforms Strong understanding of VMware vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi hypervisor operations. Strong understanding other virtualization platforms such as Citrix Xen, Microsoft Hyper-V, and cloud services, and SaaS.
• Network technologies Strong understanding of LAN, WAN, and storage network technology. This includes hardware devices and software protocols and services.
• Storage technologies Strong understanding of local, SAN, and NAS storage technologies from vendors such as Nimble, NetApp, Pure, and EMC.
• Database technology Administrative knowledge of MS SQL Server and other databases. Knowledge of clustering, high availability, backups, and log handling is also required.
• Email technology Strong understanding of Microsoft Exchange Server, including mailbox management, database management, high availability, clustering, security, and anti-spam products.
• Security High level understanding of information security principles and technology.
• Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity High level understanding of DR/BC technology and methodology, backups, restores, replication, and associated systems from a variety of vendors Years of Related Work Experience:
• Minimum: 5 years of general system, network, administrator or support experience and 3 years of dedicated infrastructure supervision or management experience.
• Preferred: 10 years of general system, network, administrator or support experience and 5 years of dedicated infrastructure supervision or management experience.

• Enterprise Healthcare Domain experience highly preferred. Brandon said if we bring him someone with LEAN Healthcare Training and/or Certification, he'll hire him/her on the spot.
• Experience working with and managing MSP Partners. Experience working with teams in broad geographic locations.
• Experience taking a small company architecture and culture, implement enterprise strategies and a culture and work through growing pains associated with it.
