IT Manager / Systems Administrator - Consumer Health Fintech CompanyLocation: you can either work remotely or in the company's office in San Francisco (which they plan to open around Q3 2023)

The company's product involves Health, Fintech, and Concierge Tech. The company is mission-driven and their mission is to help families.The company has about 80 employees and 10 engineers (both are about double what they were 1 year ago) and is rapidly growing.The company will pay up to $160k in base salary as well as equity which could be valuable.

Summary of Job Duties:- 100% individual contributorship, no people management (until about 1 year from now)- 60-70% of time will be on IT (great variety of tasks). The other 30-40% of time will be running audits and creating reports of audits and sharing with executives.- 60% of the work will be security related.- Of the machines you'll be managing, about 70-80% of them are Linux, some are Windows, some are macOS.- Of the cloud services you'll be working with, about 75% are Google Cloud Platform, 25% are AWS.Time spent on developing processes versus implementing them:- 30-40% developing processes to improve IT efficiency and effectiveness.- 60-70% implementing those processes.

Job Responsibilities:- Managing IT services and assets such as infrastructure, networks, and hosting facilities.- Executing and managing all roll-outs for IT projects including equipment, onboarding, documentation, technical support, and help desk.- Defining, developing, and implementing processes in order to improve IT efficiency and effectiveness.- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement IT strategies.- Collaborating in the conduction of audits related to SOC 2, HIPAA, and IT assets.- Defining IT policies for the organization and individual teams, and monitoring compliance.- Monitoring IT system performance and troubleshooting issues as they arise.- Ensuring that all IT systems meet security and compliance standards.- Developing appropriate processes for data protection, recovery, and failover procedures; developing disaster recovery plans and procedures.- Installing and upgrading software components.- Scaling IT systems with load tests to ensure they can handle increased demands.- Performing regular backups of IT systems.- Using automation to systematically integrate IT systems.- Managing IT budgets and control costs.- Managing relationships with external vendors and service providers.- Identifying and implementing new technologies to improve IT infrastructure and services.

Qualifications:- At least 5 years of experience as a System Administrator.- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related IT / Cybersecurity field- Experience developing IT policies, not just implementing them.- Expertise in managing Linux systems. Ability to also manage Windows and MacOs systems.- Experience with firewalls, VPN, TCP/IP, networking.- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (best) or AWS.- Startup experience.- Experience conducting audits related to SOC 2 and HIPAA.- Strong scripting and automation skills.- Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, and cross-team collaboration skills.- Ability to work autonomously and self-manage across a wide range of projects and tasks.
