About the Job:

The computer and network technician is responsible for all service and support needs for our customers. This includes performing remote support repairs, fixing/building computers in-store, going onsite to homes and businesses to troubleshoot advanced issues, as well as designing networks and installing wiring and network equipment.

They will diagnose and repair software, hardware, recommend upgrades, and speak directly with clients. This relates to all technology including: workstations, servers, printers, networks, and vendor specific hardware and software. This position will be on-site, remote work, and in-store labor depending on project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide end-user support and provisioning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems hardware and application software

Design and install cabling, network devices such as routers, switches, point-to-point systems, wireless access points

Advanced technical support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security

Planning projects from design phase through installation

Communication with customers to keep them informed of progress, notifying them of changes, planning solutions and future upgrades

Document client system information, internal processes and procedures

Using various hand/power tools

Utilize internal tools to communicate internally, share documents, create estimates, and invoices

Skills, knowledge and abilities:

Ability to embrace challenge and new situations, learning and using new technologies in different business environments on the fly.

Ability to troubleshoot unfamiliar technology

Strong written and verbal communication skills for communicating in an easy to understand language to customers, as well as technical writing skills for project and procedure documentation

Possesses an in-depth understanding of Windows and OSX, with knowledge of active directory and server operating systems.

Advanced understanding of WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security.

Experience with Exchange, o365 administration, Mikrotik and Sonicwall routers and switches, Ubiquiti products, managed backup and security solutions huge plus

Familiarity with terminating, testing, and troubleshooting of Cat 5e/6 cabling, coax, Cat3 cabling

Ability to work on ladders or high areas

Ability to work in a fast-paces environment and have fun doing it

Fluent in spoken and written English

2 years IT Support experience ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED

Base pay begins at $20-$30 based on experience
