A communications company in California is currently seeking a new IT Support Specialist for a promising opportunity with their growing staff in Irvine. In this role, the IT Support Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day support of Windows-based office software and hardware.
Responsibilities: The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for:- Provisioning laptops / desktops for new and existing employees
- Installing and upgrading new software and hardware as needed.
- Providing a first point of contact for all IT-related issues for local personnel.
- Supporting and, if necessary, implementing security processes to ensure all data storage is safe and secure.
- Supporting VPN-based remote site access.
- Coordination of maintenance with local and remote personnel.
- Maintenance of all network security measures.
- Maintenance and management of an onsite network attached storage (NAS) facility.
- Supporting and implementing if necessary, remote testing procedures.
- Facilitating communication interfaces between remote production sites & local servers.
- Travel, when needed, to implement and debug testing procedures.
- 2+ years of experience in a Technical Support environment
- Bachelor's Degree
- CCNA current certification
- Experience of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Docker, and Virtual Box
- Familiarity with the Linux Operating System
- Microsoft Office Suite proficient
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer and/or Electrical Engineering
