A communications company in California is currently seeking a new IT Support Specialist for a promising opportunity with their growing staff in Irvine. In this role, the IT Support Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day support of Windows-based office software and hardware.

Responsibilities: The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for:
  • Provisioning laptops / desktops for new and existing employees
  • Installing and upgrading new software and hardware as needed.
  • Providing a first point of contact for all IT-related issues for local personnel.
  • Supporting and, if necessary, implementing security processes to ensure all data storage is safe and secure.
  • Supporting VPN-based remote site access.
  • Coordination of maintenance with local and remote personnel.
  • Maintenance of all network security measures.
  • Maintenance and management of an onsite network attached storage (NAS) facility.
  • Supporting and implementing if necessary, remote testing procedures.
  • Facilitating communication interfaces between remote production sites & local servers.
  • Travel, when needed, to implement and debug testing procedures.

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in a Technical Support environment
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • CCNA current certification
  • Experience of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Docker, and Virtual Box
  • Familiarity with the Linux Operating System
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficient
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
