Amick Brown is looking for an experienced
IT Support Technician for our direct client in the public sector. style="font-weight: 400;" Location: Sacramento, CA style="font-weight: 400;" Duration: 6-9 Months with possible extensions style="font-weight: 400;" Estimated pay range: $28-$35 an hour per client contract and candidate skills, experience and work location. style="font-weight: 400;" Roles and Responsibilities- Sets up/install new user systems, configure desktop computers and monitors, connect computers to peripheral equipment and load software.
- Creation of Active Directory account and setting permissions including file/folder access, and creating user accounts for specific systems.
- Adhere to security procedures.
- Perform back-up, recovery and systems monitoring in addition to installations, upgrades and/or other hardware/software support activities;
- Analyze and recover systems when malfunction occurs.
- Monitor hardware and software on LAN/WAN systems.
- Monitor jobs using a computer terminal or personal computer (PC).
- Perform minor repairs on computers and peripheral equipment.
- Coordinate more difficult repairs, or mandated contractual repairs with vendors.
- Coordinate and schedules work with vendor service providers.
- Provide informal training on equipment.
- Builds and maintain positive and professional working relationships with co-workers, other County employees, vendors, and the public using principles of good customer service.
- Track service requests and trouble reports and ensure problems are resolved
- Work independently and as a cooperative, contributing member of a team
- Basic computer hardware and software, operating systems, and workflow processes
- Basic operational characteristics of local and wide area network systems, enterprise and network operating systems and automated operations applications
- Basic operational characteristics of communication systems, equipment and devices
- Basic methods and techniques of testing, troubleshooting, problem solving, and maintenance of desktop computer, network, and communication system hardware and software
- Experience with tools used in the maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and installation of personal computers, communications equipment, network components, and peripheral equipment
- Principles and practices of effective customer service
- Safe work practices when working with electronic equipment
- Operations, services, concepts, terms and activities common to a comprehensive, state of-the-art information technology program
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with others, verbally and in writing; follow instructions, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to learn to troubleshoot problems with software, hardware, communications and operating systems.
- Ability to identify and locate the source of the problem; diagnose problem and develop logical, reliable solutions; and initiate corrective actions
