Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include but are not limited to:

  1. Daily administration of various enterprise systems: Active Directory, Exchange/O365, Point of Sale systems, DNS, DHCP, anti-virus, gold images, software package creation and deployment, group policies, backups, SQL, Dell KACE Systems Management, Vsphere, file servers, credit processing and lift access infrastructure.
  2. Physical maintenance of server hardware within the corporate data center located at Palisades.
  3. Flexible scheduling is a must since system upgrades and maintenance are frequently performed outside of normal business hours and our resorts operate all holidays and weekends.
  4. Assist Infrastructure team on WAN and LAN infrastructure – includes Cisco router and switch administration.
  5. Protect company data by performing daily backups of standalone and networked systems, file and application servers. This includes education of users on data backup importance and techniques.
  6. Automate repetitive processes by writing scripts in various administrative languages.
  7. Protect company hardware and software by maintaining detailed hardware, software inventory and warranty records.
  8. Interacts positively with end users, staff members, managers, executives, and vendors. This position is required to assist and train fellow employees in complex information systems topics.
  9. Document procedures and routines in the corporate knowledgebase wiki.
  10. Establish/recommend policies on system use and services.
  11. Monitor system health and resource consumption.
  12. Alterra/Palisades Tahoe team members must read, understand, and abide by all procedures and guidelines defined by Alterra, Palisades Tahoe, the IT Director, and the IT Infrastructure Manager. Compliance with Palisades Tahoe Employee Handbook and the Alterra policies, whenever representing their position, are mandatory.

Competencies and Job Requirements:

Effective communication skills, oral and written.

Education, Experience & Technical Skills:

  1. Degree in Computer Science, IT or other related discipline, and at least 3 years of experience working in a similar environment.
  2. Solid understanding of Windows Server operating systems and Linux/Unix operating systems. Comfortable and familiar with both GUI and command line interfaces in both Windows and Linux/UNIX.
  3. Prior experience administering a Windows Active Directory domain, Windows file servers, Exchange servers, DHCP, DNS, GPOs, backup software, SSL certificates, IIS/Apache, SQL.
  4. Prior experience writing documentation, both articles for other IT staff, and for non-IT staff.

Desired networking skill set: Cisco IOS, VLANs, VOIP, WLANs, experience with low-voltage Category (Cat5e/Cat6) cabling, installation, termination, and troubleshooting.

Working Conditions:

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outside weather conditions.

Equipment Used in Job:Typical network wiring equipment (crimpers, cutters, toners, cable testers, lineman's handset, etc), various software, hardware and computer equipment, hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
