Are you a hands-on individual living hanford, who enjoys a variety of tasks and takes pride in getting things done right? We’re currently looking for a reliable and versatile part-time worker with the potential for more full-time opportunities based on skill and performance. If you have a strong work ethic, good old common sense, and a range of practical experience across trades, this could be a great fit for you. Ideally, candidates should already reside in Castlegar and possess a valid CA driver’s license (Class 5 minimum). A Class 1 or Class 3 license is a big asset and would open up more work opportunities, especially for those capable of handling larger delivery vehicles. You’ll also need to have a working mobile phone with texting and data capabilities, as communication on the go is essential in this role. We’re looking for someone with practical, hands-on experience in several areas. One of the main roles includes operating a forklift to safely load and unload trucks and large containers, so experience and certification in forklift operation is highly valued. Candidates should also be comfortable driving a standard transmission truck with a tandem car trailer to assist with pickups and deliveries throughout the region. Additional desirable skills include the ability to cut and fit plywood sheets with accuracy, install signage, and work with wood framing using 2x4 and 2x6 lumber. Experience in installing windows and doors is also beneficial, as well as any exposure to basic welding, grinding, and metal fabrication. If you’ve used acetylene and oxygen torch cutting equipment or have worked with heavy machinery and snow removal equipment, that’s another strong plus. Familiarity with drills, saws, and other power tools is essential, as is the ability to follow safety protocols and complete tasks efficiently. We’re also interested in individuals with experience in industrial spray painting, particularly in an equipment or fabrication setting. This position is ideal for someone who likes variety in their workday and isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty. You’ll be part of a small, hardworking team that values reliability, flexibility, and a can-do attitude. While no one is expected to know everything, the more skills you bring to the table, the more hours and responsibilities you could take on. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who’s semi-retired, between jobs, or looking to supplement their income while working on diverse and rewarding projects in the community. If you’re dependable, safety-minded, take initiative, and enjoy building, fixing, hauling, or maintaining just about anything, we’d love to hear from you. Send us a message or reach out today to discuss how your skills could be a perfect fit for our team.
