Junior Data Quality Analyst - on site in the San Francisco Bay Area

This QA role is to ensure that the solution delivered has the highest level of quality possible. Candidate is primarily responsible for the creation and execution of test cases, manual and automated testing as needed. Candidate will be responsible for discovery, management, and closure of issues discovered during the testing process. This person will also assist in the identification of process improvements and quality standards. Applicants must possess excellent analytic and problem-solving skills and have the tenacity to discover the hard-to-find defects and manage them until closure. The applicant will be required to collaborate and communicate effectively in a team environment, as well as work and think independently

Responsibilities:

  • Develop efficient and effective qualitative methods, measures, and guidelines to continuously improve quality processes and practices.
  • Perform extensive backend (preferably SQL server or other RDBMS) testing, writing medium to complex SQL scripts to validate data between multiple sources.
  • Hands on experience with backend database testing along with ability to analyze and test different DB objects (Stored procedures, functions, views) that are used by web applications.
  • Management and execution of test scenarios and test cases and, where possible, develop and execute automated test scripts to verify software functionality and adherence to business requirements.
  • Experience with reports testing (ex - Tableau) to ensure data credibility and accuracy of insights derived from the BI reports.
  • Provide accurate report of test progress to the management team and follow up with development team on defects; participate in root cause analysis discussions for all defects
  • Analyze the business requirements, write test scenarios and execute the test cases.
  • Meet aggressive deadlines while also ensuring quality changes are released into production
  • Efficient in performing data analysis with large datasets and capable of solving loosely defined problems
  • Perform various types of testing, including functional, Load, Regression, and Integration
  • Ability to extract insights from data, which involves a level of analytical comprehension and manipulation
  • Manage and execute the creation and distribution of data quality reports.
  • Work with development team to correct data quality errors.
  • Determine root cause for data quality errors and make recommendations for long-term solutions.
  • Resolve all internal data exceptions in timely and accurate manner.
  • Comply with the project standards on testing policies, criteria, strategy, and procedure
  • Working experience in HealthCare industry is highly desirable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or similar required (minimum).
  • A minimum of 2 years of QA experience in backend manual testing.
  • Extensive backend (SQL server or other databases) testing and data analysis experience
  • Strong proficiency with writing SQL queries and analyzing datasets.
  • Demonstrated experience with Tableau reports testing, Tableau Desktop, Server, Prep/Conductor, data connectors, and other Tableau add-ons.
  • Good to have hands on experience of using data analytics, data visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • Experience testing standalone, web, backend systems and/or mobile applications.
  • Expertise in testing methodologies, test plans and test case development.
  • Working experience in a data science with strong knowledge of Statistics/Heuristics.
  • Well versed with defect reporting process.
