Lab Manager for one of our Social Media clients for location Sunnyvale-CA-USA Qualified candidates can directly send their updated resume and contact info via email: SummaryThe Lab Manager will provide support to the manufacturing test and automation group in the hardware lab environment. The lab manager is responsible for working with local/international suppliers and contract manufacturers on sourcing and procurement, placing purchase requests and purchase orders, shipping/customs/receiving, facilitating and allocating lab space, and organizing the setup of multiple manufacturing equipment designed for virtual reality products. The lab manager will build strong cross-functional partnerships with the hardware test engineers, facilities, procurement, and logistics teams. This position is for a highly motivated, well-rounded individual who works well within a cross-discipline engineering environment. The ideal candidate is a hybrid of a logistics, inventory, facility coordinator, and lab manager, and space planner. The individual has exceptional organizational skills and the ability to adjust and prioritize in a dynamic environment to support growing customer needs. Primary Responsibilities :Collaborate with engineers to develop bills of materials and documentation for the equipment and fixtures they have developedCoordinate with facility teams for equipment storage or relocation for new or specialized equipment setup with proper utility, facility, and EHS teamsPlan space, layout, workflow, and ergonomics of dedicated lab spaceEngage with internal customers and gain understanding of their current and future needs.Locate and order parts, with understanding of vendor lead times to ensure that items will arrive in time for the team to hit project milestonesPack and unpack equipment. Check items against the bill of materials and packing list, and follow up where there are parts missing or mismatchedWork with internal logistics and shipping team to create documentation required for domestic or international import/export of special equipmentWork closely with engineering managers to develop plans for new lab spaces and lab modificationsManage lab inventory and re-stock parts where necessarySupport team’s materials and equipment to be ordered, received, accounted for, placed into operation and removedCollaborate with partner teams from finance, accounting, capex/opex managers to create and handle budgets and purchase to pay activitiesTracks internal budget and review and process invoices from vendorsFollow up with internal business teams and customers to ensure procurement process is making progress efficiently Education/Experience:Bachelors degree required Minimum Qualifications:4+ years of experience managing research and development labs.4+ years of experience with spreadsheeting (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, etc.)Critical thinking and creative problem-solving to identify effective solutionsAble to interpret, analyze, and evaluate given technical information relative to lab equipment and fixturesCommunication skills, verbal and writtenAttention to detailAble to act independently across competing priorities and exercise judgment Preferred qualifications:Knowledge of manufacturing test solution developmentExperience with procurement, logistics, sourcing, customs/shipping, or related management.Experience with NRTL certificationExperience with Microsoft Office tools or Google-Suite Office applications especially Excel/Sheet (use of pivot tables and graph generation)- ID: #49324587
