Lab Technician

Job Title: Laboratory TechnicianLocation: West Sacramento, CAShift : 20-40 hours per week, requires flexibilityPay : 25/hr3 month contractCompany :Work for a company with dedicated service, locally proven canola, sorghum and sunflower seed for farm customers and new plant-based solutions for end-use customers globally. Over 300 employees work across our global locations. Based in West Sacramento, this role is an exciting opportunity for Lab Technicians. Responsibilities:

Perform tissue sampling for DNA extraction in a lab environment

Prepare buffers and reagents according to SOP

Conduct high-throughput sample prep, DNA extraction, and genotyping in an automated lab.

Assists in monitoring the proper functioning and maintenance of laboratory equipment

Maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment in compliance with Environmental Safety and Health guidelines and housekeeping practices.

Must also attend training and wear appropriate PPE.

Perform all duties with a high level of accuracy to maintain the integrity of quality results.

Requirements:

Pursuing or completed AA/AS degree or BA/BS in chemical, biological, agricultural, plant biology or related field

Responsible, results oriented, focused, and agile.

Decision making and problem-solving skills.

Coordinate lab-customer activities

Take ownership of compliance with company policies

Detail oriented and possess good organizational skills as well as the ability to multi-task project management skills.
