We have exceptional opportunities to evolve our industry by driving change through new technology.If you're ready for high-impact, you're ready for CDK.Roadster is looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer, who will be responsible for building out and maintaining our ops infrastructure as we grow. We currently serve 1000's of dealerships in 6 countries around the world, and our business is growing fast. You will have a lead role in defining and implementing how we continue to scale up our platform and meet our performance, availability and security goals. You will also have a primary role in determining how we meet SOC2 compliance requirements over the coming year, such as adopting an Infrastructure as Code toolset and coalescing our access to production systems to use SSO.We currently deploy our apps on Heroku, and foresee staying with that choice until scale or price dictates we move to native AWS or similar. Our stack consists of Rails, VueJS, Cloudflare, Postgres, Elastic and Redis. We have a small engineering team, and our approach is centered on building tools and automation for our ops and other business processes.This role also has the opportunity to expand into contributing to our platform: You could help with non-ops feature work as time allows, such as internal admin tools, back-end integrations with new data feeds or APIs, or DB optimization for our core product or data warehouse.Impact:Enable Roadster to continue to scale (e.g., building out an additional data center for better DR posture, leveraging additional Cloudflare security features, upgrading existing services for greater reliability,).Raise the bar on our tools and automation, building fault-tolerant networking and service architectures.Qualifications:8+ years of engineering and Unix cloud-based ops experience. Able to own all aspects of infrastructure rollout, contribute to decisions on architecture and best practices.Experience with all fundamental ops areas: DBs, networking/SSL, app servers, security, monitoring, alerts, Solid programming skills (Ruby or Python preferred).Comfortable in a fast-moving environment, taking initiative and making an impact.
