Title: Lead Engineer- Audio Validation

Location: Sunnyvale, CA (100% onsite) – Quest Global Office

Customer: Quest Global

Salary: $110K - $135K DOE

Lead a team of validation engineers who work on audio (over Bluetooth) modules for a next generation consumer product that is expected to revolutionize wearables industry in coming years. This individual will be working within our facility in Sunnyvale as well as our customer facility helping validation engineers to overcome technical impediments, develop test plans, test design and mentor team members to come up with more qualitative defects.We expect this individual to take responsibility of the audio module deliverables, provide product quality update to leadership by tracking product feature KPIs, track validation schedules and lead reviews with the customer on a regular basis.Will be responsible for delivering solutions on time, cost and quality needs for customer.We also expect this individual to manage the technical relationship with the Customer, coordinate with various teams across customer organization and Quest Off-Shore delivery team.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Understanding of Wearable/CE Devices Architecture
  • Develop testing requirement documents, testing setup requirements, and test design
  • Create test to evaluate quality of audio, also find the impact of audio in other modules and vice versa
  • Drive team to Identify, test, track and report product KPI trends over the course of the projects
  • Diagnose issues, report defects, and propose regression tests to discover reoccurrences
  • Execute testing of devices at different thermal and environment conditions (for eg. Setup based on different env conditions)
  • Automation scope identification and strategy planning

Required skills (Technical Competency)
  • Proficient in automation related to Audio testing – Preferably python skillset
  • Expertise in audio analyzing tools
  • Functional and quality validation of Audio features – Mic and Speakers
  • Feature testing of Microphone features and speaker features
  • Testing in various scenarios like noise scenarios, environment conditions etc
  • Features like ANC, voice commands etc
  • Support power testing scenarios
  • Expertise in design and develop tests for functional and quality validation of latest audio features like Spatial audio, ANC etc
  • Expertise in using acoustic room and audio analyzing tools
  • Expertise in designing and developing Automated test for Audio (Preferably python skillset)
  • Expertise in Planning and conduct tests for scenarios like env. noise, env. conditions etc
  • Basic Knowledge in audio processing algorithms, Bluetooth profiles and wireless Audio transmission.
  • Experience with test planning, test designing and execution, performance and stress testing, implementing and maintaining quality test automation

Employment History12+ years of practical experience in the consumer electronics industry for validation role, preferably for a major OEM; including Meta, Apple, Dolby , Samsung, Motorola, or a tier one supplier to any of those companies and it’s competitors
