We use innovative technologies and Agile methods to positively impact every American across the communities we serve.As a senior or Lead Site Reliability Engineer, you will work with STAR development and QA teams, DevOps teams as well as our National IT teams architecting, building, and managing the systems that support the STAR application suite both on-prem and in the Cloud. Your main focus will be crafting and implementing the tooling and services required to support STAR's development processes while following DevOps best practices.While the SF Fed is a Reserve Bank, we're not what you might expect. That's why we offer a flexible hybrid work model that allows you to collaborate with office colleagues on some days, and work from home on others.Responsibilities:- Working with the development teams and DevOps teams to create and implement STAR's Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline
- Work with National IT to create and implement the tooling required for Continuous Delivery
- Ensure our systems and tooling are future proof and can accommodate growth and continually changing requirements
- Participate in design and planning sessions to ensure changes to tooling or services are accounted for
- Design and implement process improvements
- Coach and mentor others on Platform Engineering and DevOps best practices
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Systems Analysis or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years of industry experience in building and supporting enterprise level systems as a platform engineer or equivalent in a production environment
- 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing, supporting, and using the tools and services required for DevOps best practices. This includes but not limited to:
- Linux (RHEL)
- Application services (WebSphere, Tomcat, Spring Boot)
- Source code control systems (Subversion, Git variants)
- Build systems (Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI)
- Static analysis tools (SonarQube, Fortify)
- Containerization tools (Docker, Podman)
- Orchestration and environment management tools (Puppet, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform)
- Monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog)
- Programming or scripting languages (Java, C, C#, Python, Bash)
- Automated testing tools (Selenium, TestComplete)
- Hands-on experience with AWS services - building, deploying, and monitoring using AWS tools and services such as AWS CodePipeline, AWS CloudWatch, AWS CloudFormation, and AWS X-Ray
- Thorough understanding of APIs, gateways, orchestrators, databases, networking, monitoring, configuration management and security best practices for a production environment
