As a Lead Site Reliability Engineer, you will help to deploy, lead, fix, and reinvent the tools, services, and components that our team relies on to develop an enterprise wide data platform and keep It operational.

You will work cross-functionally with Product Managers, Product Owners, Architects, Engineers, Product Analysts, and Customer teams in a constantly evolving environment. You will work collaboratively with team members to complete everything from design documentation to conferring with other specialists and architects to updating and maintaining Infrastructure as Code to install and configure software.

As a Lead Site Reliability Engineer, you will have the overall responsibility for the design, development and execution of operations required to support the ongoing technical and delivery needs of the infrastructure for the data platforms as well as production support and operations. You will be accountable for ensuring that we have the right tools in place to keep our environment running 24x7.

You will direct a team of Site Reliability engineers who are focused on SLI/SLO development, Automation, Toil Elimination, Incident Response/Resolution, Monitoring and automated alerting remediation Implementation, Addressing Vulnerabilities, and Resiliency and Chaos Testing.

Responsibilities:
  • Build SRE strategy and jointly develop roadmaps with the Product Owners.
  • Responsible for improving and protecting the availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning of cloud-based software and systems.
  • Collaborate with Architects and Engineers on work related to the operational health, security, performance, and observability.
  • Educate and mature the team on SRE best practices and leverage the same.
  • Drive innovation and platform evolution - identify potential breakdowns and drive improvements.
  • Automate our operational processes as needed, with accuracy, and compliant with security standards.
  • Establish and maintain an application playbook to reduce the time necessary to mitigate an incident.
  • Establish, and continually re-evaluate, Service-Level Objectives and identify corresponding key Service-Level Indicators and identify and respond optimally to service failures to preserve the service's conformance to its Service-Level agreement.
  • Design, develop, engineer, and deploy solutions related to application scalability, isolation, latency, throughput, and efficiency.
  • Lead the establishment of an automation strategy for cloud services in coordination with architects and developers.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with concentration in computer science, management information systems or comparable technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7 years of hands-on experience in application and technical support role
  • 5 years of proven experience in designing, managing, and scaling distributed systems in a public, private, or hybrid cloud environment.
  • 3 years of SRE leader experience including establishment and maturing of the practice.
