Description We are seeking a Legal Secretary to join our team in Sebastopol, California. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to our client's legal team. This involves handling legal documentation, managing case files, coordinating meetings, and conducting legal research. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation and editing of legal documents including briefs, pleadings, contracts, and correspondence Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files, ensuring all documents are filed accurately and promptly Manage attorney calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings and conferences Serve as a point of contact for clients, fielding phone calls and emails, and relaying messages to attorneys as necessary Conduct legal research using online databases and libraries to support attorneys in case preparation and analysis Assist with billing tasks, including time entry and invoice preparation Track expenses and reimbursements related to cases Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, copying, scanning, and faxing documents Maintain office supplies and equipment Use various software and management systems including LexisNexis, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suites, Microsoft Outlook, and other documentation and billing functionsRequirements Proficiency in legal management systems and Microsoft Office Suites including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook Familiarity with LexisNexis software for legal research Ability to handle billing functions, documentation, and dictation tasks Skill in briefing legal teams and managing legal documentation Strong calendar management skills to organize and schedule meetings and appointments Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Knowledge of law office procedures and legal terminology Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work well in a team and independently when required Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualification as a legal secretary or paralegal will be a plus Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
