Description National law firm has an immediate opening for a patent prosecution Legal Secretary! This Legal Secretary will join the intellectual property team and support multiple patent prosecution attorneys. As a Legal Secretary with this firm, your role will involve preparing new patent applications, filing with the USPTO, docketing, and maintaining accurate credit records. this position is hybrid and requires on-site work in the Palo Alto office Tuesday-Thursday and offers remote work on Monday and Friday. The ideal candidate will have 4-7+ years of legal secretary experience including in the patent prosecution practice area. Responsibilities: Preparing new patent applications for filing Preparing responses and/or amendments to Office Actions Reviewing issued patents and preparing Certificates of Correction, as directed Preparing an Information Disclosure Statement (“IDS”) or Supplemental Disclosure Reviewing the attorney’s docket, providing updated information to the docket staff and reconciling the docket as directed Scheduling meetings and notifying all parties involved; reminding participants of meetings, as needed Assisting with creating new client matter accounts (conflict checks, intakes, retainer letter and file opening) Schedule meetings and notify all parties involved; remind participants of meetings, as needed. Track attorneys' time.
