Litigation Legal Secretary / Legal Assistant

Jassim Law is a plaintiff's personal injury firm representing individuals who have suffered serious injuries in motor vehicle collisions, premises liability incidents, truck accidents, and other catastrophic events. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Litigation Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant to join our team.

About the Role

This position supports all phases of personal injury litigation, from intake through trial. The ideal candidate has civil litigation experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in producing accurate, professional work product. You will work closely with attorneys, clients, medical providers, and expert witnesses to move cases forward efficiently.

Responsibilities

- Draft, proofread, and format correspondence, discovery, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents

- Prepare and file documents with state and federal courts, including e-filing through various court systems

- Calendar deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial dates, and maintain accurate case management records

- Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files, including scanning, indexing, and document management

- Coordinate with clients, medical providers, expert witnesses, opposing counsel, and court personnel

- Request, organize, and summarize medical records and billing statements

- Assist with deposition scheduling, witness coordination, and exhibit organization

- Provide trial support, including preparation of trial binders, subpoenas, exhibit lists, and witness files

- Track case expenses, and information

- Handle general administrative tasks as needed to support firm operations

Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years of experience as a legal secretary or legal assistant in civil litigation (required)

- Personal injury litigation and/or trial experience strongly preferred

- Proficiency with court e-filing systems, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Spanish Proficiency a plus.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities

- Professional demeanor when interacting with clients, medical offices, and court staff

- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment

Compensation & Schedule

- Starting at $25/hour, commensurate with experience

- Full-time or part-time schedules available

- Remote work available after successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.
