About the Role:
You’ll handle plan drafting, HOA submissions, and city permitting for residential projects such as garage-to-ADU conversions, remodels, and additions. Perfect for an independent architect seeking flexible, steady project work without full-time commitment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and stamp plan sets for City of Sacramento and HOA approval
Coordinate with homeowners, engineers, and city planning departments
Respond to plan check comments and maintain project compliance
Provide design input and revisions as needed
Requirements:
Active California Architectural License (required)
Minimum 1 year of residential design and permit experience
Skilled in AutoCAD or Revit
Reliable communication and attention to deadlines
Compensation:
Per-project pay depending on scope (average $1,500–$3,500 per project)
We average 10–20 projects per month, offering a consistent stream of work with flexible scheduling.
Flexible schedule – remote or local collaboration
Paid directly per approved project phase
Travel reimbursement is provided for occasional site visits (measurements, inspections, or HOA review meetings) within the Bay Area or Sacramento region.
