This person will be based at the Newport Beach office with rotation to the Orange, CA office as needed. The Medical Assistant / X-ray Tech will be responsible for assisting the physician with a range of clinical and administrative office tasks. With varied responsibilities, candidates must be professional, motivated, reliable and flexible problem solvers who demonstrate compassion for patient needs.MUST BE CERTIFIED IN CALIFORNIA TO PERFORM X-RAYSResponsibilities of the X-Ray Tech / Medical Assistant
Cleaning and maintaining treatment rooms and equipment including sterilization of instruments and sterile tray set up
Preparing examination room, equipment, and instruments per patient needs
Explain x-ray procedure to the patientsto ensure patient safety and comfort
Position patients correctly for radiological procedures and take radiographic images (all are lower extremity) as requested by the physician
Operatex-ray machine according to established procedures
Ensure quality x-rays are taken to prevent repeat procedures
Review of medical history and medication reconciliation into electronic charts in the EMR system
History of present illness intake
Ensure accurate charting for the physician
Assist the physicians with minor in-office procedures
Assist physicians with patient care including obtaining vitals, bandaging and DME fitting
Qualifications of the X-Ray Tech / Medical Assistant
A current Limited X-ray license in CA is required - Open to newly licensed applicants
Previous X-ray Tech experience is highly preferred
Experience performing x-rays of extremities highly preferred - lower extremities is ideal
Medical Assistant experience or recent MA program graduate
Healthcare clinic experience is a plus
Strong knowledge of medical terminology
Previous experience working in an EMR is preferred, Athena is preferred
Must be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonal skills
Exceptional customer service orientation featuring an empathetic, compassionate and professional demeanor with each interaction
Demonstrated experience as a reliable and dedicated co-worker with a stable work history
High school graduate required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
