Experienced litigation paralegal needed to work full time and earn our undying gratitude. We are a small, well-established corporate transactional and litigation law firm located in the financial district, one block from Montgomery Street BART station.

REQUIREMENTS

Detail-oriented, organized, and able to budget time effectively, multitask, and work independently

Ability to work collaboratively with other team members

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including grammar, spelling, and proofreading

Strongly preferred: at least four years of general litigation experience, including business litigation and real estate

The following additional qualifications are also desirable:

Familiarity with California state and federal e-filing platforms; familiarity with e-discovery platforms

Experience attending and assisting with civil trials

Active licensed California notary

Current California driver’s license

Familiarity with probate procedures and filings

Experience recording documents with county recorders

RESPONSIBILITIES

Interacting with colleagues, clients, opposing counsel, and vendors in a professional manner

Maintaining an electronic calendar of upcoming case events and deadlines

Maintaining a database of firm contacts, including clients, potential clients, legal professionals, vendors, and others

Handling state & fed court filings (electronic and paper) as well as service of documents on parties and non-parties

Using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel applications

Undertaking online research, including basic familiarity with Lexis/Westlaw

Performing factual investigations, including client and witness interviews

Working with legal industry vendors, e.g., process servers, electronic discovery providers and private investigators

Collecting and managing client and third-party records

Drafting basic discovery requests and responses

Reviewing documents for responsiveness, relevance, and privilege

Managing hard-copy and electronic discovery, including production formats and document management systems

Maintaining and updating paper and electronic pleading, correspondence, and other litigation-related case files

Supervising and managing work of document clerks and other junior staff

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Compensation: between $75,000 and $80,000

Benefits include Health Insurance, 401K, Profit Sharing Contributions to 401K, federal holidays and paid time off

ADDITIONAL

This is a full-time and an in-office position; Monday-Friday, possible occasional overtime required (very rarely) evenings and/or weekends
