Litigation Secretary or Paralegal

Description One of RHL's longtime clients is seeking a litigation secretary or paralegal to join their growing firm. We have placed 3 legal professionals here in the last 2 years and they all love it! The firm practices insurance defense; trucking companies are a big bulk of the practice, but they also have HOA, restaurant and retail clients. The firm has 20-ish attorneys in 5 offices around the country, with San Diego being one of the larger offices.Responsibilities of Role:

Legal support for insurance defense matters. The primary client of the two partners in San Diego is a major insurance company.

eFiling (mostly state courts)

Contact court to find out case status

Updating attorney calendar

Maintaining case log of discovery request and subpoenas

Billable requirement: None, but will occasionally bill out time if a paralegal

Requirements

Knowledge of CA civil codes and procedures (how to calendar, eFile, format pleadings according to local rules, etc.)

3+ years of solid litigation experience (ideally on the defense side)

Tech-savvy (firm uses Clio)

Paralegal certificate would be great if they can bill out time, but not required at all

Willingness to commute to Mission Valley most days
