Job Title: Live-in Household Manager and Nanny
Location: Carlsbad, CA (house near the lagoon, 3-minute walk to the lagoon beach, 5-minute bike ride to ocean beach with a pool at the house!)
Compensation: $36,200/year and your own room and bathroom on the second floor (isolated from rest of house), car + paid insurance, phone plan and food at the house
Hours: 40-45 hours/week (flexible except for childcare duties)
Overview: Hello there! We are looking for a dedicated and caring Household Manager to join our family and assist with the day-to-day running of our home. This position involves taking care of our two children (ages 2.5 and 6), managing household tasks, cleaning and organizing, preparing meals, and overseeing household wirj. You will become an integral part of our family, and we are seeking someone who is reliable, trustworthy, and eager to build a long-term relationship with our family as a trusted family member.
Key Responsibilities:
Childcare & Transportation
Take children to and from school or camp, both attend full-time school or daycare.
Spend quality time with children after school, engaging in age-appropriate activities and ensuring their development, safety and well-being.
Provide care when children are sick or need to stay home from school.
Cleaning & Organizing
Regularly clean and maintain the house, including laundry.
Organize household items, ensuring everything is in its place and easily accessible.
Meal Preparation
Prep food by cutting vegetables, helping with basic meal preparation including making the kids lunch and getting certain family meals ready.
Ensure that kitchen and dining areas are clean and organized post-meal preparation.
Household Management
Open and manage household mail and packages.
Coordinate and oversee household helpers, such as landscapers, cleaners, and contractors.
Schedule and oversee repairs and maintenance of the home, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Manage household inventory (e.g., grocery stock, cleaning supplies) and other household tasks as needed.
Requirements:
Previous experience with childcare, especially with young children, is essential.
Strong cleaning and organizing skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to manage household operations independently and stay organized.
A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills and responsibilities as needed.
Must have a reliable and responsible approach to childcare, including getting children to/from school and attending to their needs when necessary.
Comfortable with a flexible schedule, though some tasks (like school drop-off/pick-up) are time-sensitive.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, must pass a background check.
