Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to operate various machine tools to produce precision metal and plastic parts. The Machinist will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC and/or manual machines, ensuring high-quality output while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation: Set up and operate CNC and/or manual milling machines, lathes, grinders, and other precision machinery.
Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine machining requirements.
Programming & Setup: Program CNC machines using G-code or CAD/CAM software (if applicable) and adjust machine settings for optimal performance.
Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure they meet specifications.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and troubleshoot machine malfunctions, perform routine maintenance, and keep workstations clean and organized.
Material Handling: Select appropriate raw materials and cutting tools, load and unload workpieces, and ensure proper storage.
Safety & Compliance: Follow all workplace safety regulations, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and comply with company and industry standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience as a machinist (CNC or manual).
Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or apprenticeship preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in operating CNC and/or manual machines.
- Experience with G-code programming and CAD/CAM software is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Soft Skills:
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Standing for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and machine oils.
