Reliable candidates for a Maintenance Technician. Candidates must be team members with a positive attitude, eager to work efficiently in a multifamily apartment community. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing work orders at various properties and must be willing and prepared to drive to properties located throughout San Diego County. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and would be responsible for the following:

Maintenance staff is responsible for all aspects of property maintenance including curb appeal, light cleaning of properties, service requests, apartment turnovers and preventative maintenance while maintaining professional relationships with residents, associates, contractors, and team members.

Completion of general maintenance tasks including timely service of work orders for occupied apartments and prepare vacant units for new move-ins.

Skills to include drywall repair, hang new interior doors, replace mirrors, grout ceramic tile, cut and install new baseboard, install vertical blinds, install sinks, replace faucets, change angle stops and supply lines, etc…

Basic knowledge of appliance repair and installation for dishwasher, electric stove, fridge, equipment functions

Exceptional "work safe" skills

Applied knowledge for troubleshooting and repairing electrical, plumbing leaks or clogged pipe issues. Change breakers, install new ceiling fans, snake a toilet with a hand auger or an electric snake.

Ensure job assignments and work orders are carried out promptly, efficiently and in accordance with established procedures.

Complete daily work orders by troubleshooting breakdowns, identifying solutions, and gathering supplies.

Basic record and timekeeping skills. Document hours worked and service and installation actions.

Utilize online platform, Appfolio, to review and update work orders, add notes, and upload pictures.

Responsible for the appearance of the property and the safety of the residents.

Able to travel between properties to complete work orders, work alone or with another team member

Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time based on needs, training, knowledge, and capabilities.

HOURS: 8 hour shift Monday-Friday plus rotating on-call schedule for emergencies, most major holidays off in addition to vacation time accrual.

Salary: Depends on experience but ranging from $24-$30 per hour, reimbursement for mileage, but must be able/willing to work with a mileage tracking app and agree to utilize a locator app.

REQUIRED: Basic tools, Vehicle, Driver’s License and Auto Insurance required.
