The positionIn this role, you will oversee projects that drive better data-based decision making for our clients, from strategy and planning, to data management, to analytics and visualization. We are looking for a hands-on technical data lead who can successfully manage projects, teams, and stakeholders. What you'll bring

    • You can identify project opportunities and make recommendations for new work based on your thorough knowledge of client needs
What you'll do on the job
    • Lead project teams through all core project phases, including project setup, requirements gathering, design, development, testing and deployment
    • Lead your team through hands-on example by coding, creating data visualizations and building data models
    • Facilitate workshops, provide status updates, and lead meetings across the executive levels of client organizations
    • Proactively identify risks and issues, and provide mitigation strategies
    • Maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities beyond your current engagement
    • Contribute to internal growth initiatives including mentorship, recruitment, strategy and/or methodology enhancement
Requirements
    • 5-7+ years Project Management, Process, Implementation, SDLC, System Integration experience
    • 3+ years in consulting / professional services, big firm experience preferred
    • Experience designing and building relational database and/or data warehouses on a major vendor platform such as Teradata, Redshift, Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, or other
    • Experience with business driven or self-service BI, using tools similar to Tableau, Birst, Qlik, Cognos, Business Objects, or other
    • 5 years’ experience using SQL in a Production environment
    • Experience in data modeling using tools such as Erwin, Oracle Data Modeler, or ER/Studio
    • Ability to profile, explore, and analyze data to identify common patterns and anti-patterns
    • Experience with data migration, profiling, cleansing, and integration, including participation in at least one major data migration project
    • Trained and implemented in both an Agile/Kanban and SDLC project management environment
    • Thorough experience with client-facing activities such as requirements gathering, meeting facilitation & presentation creation, and deliverable review & approval sessions
    • Experience with project planning, including tasks, budgeting, and resource allocation
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information systems, computer science, business administration, or other related fields
Preferred
    • A solid understanding of key BI trends and the BI vendor landscape
    • Experience in Media & Entertainment and/or Consumer Products industries
    • Experience at a large consulting firm
