Job Category: Information Technology Job Level: Manager/PrincipalBusiness Unit: Information TechnologyWork Type: HybridJob Location: OaklandDepartment OverviewThe Enterprise Data Management (EDM) team enables data governance, quality, and metadata management capabilities to maximize the use and ensure the trustworthiness of PG&E's critical data assets.Position SummaryThe Data Quality Manager will be responsible for end-to-end planning and implementation of a comprehensive, enterprise strategy to achieve and maintain the level of data quality required to support PG&E's business goals and objectives, including accurate risk management, improved operational efficiency, and advanced analytics.This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. A reasonable salary range is:Bay Area Minimum: $132,000Bay Area Maximum: $226,000&/ORCalifornia Minimum: $125,000California Maximum: $215,000Job Responsibilities- Articulate the data quality mission and strategy, including the value of managing data as an asset
- Provide clear direction and lead implementation of best practices, guidelines, and tools for core data quality activities, including data profiling, cleansing, and quality assessment
- Streamline current data quality management processes to enable business data stewards and owners to monitor and manage the quality of their data assets
- Assess gaps in data quality management capabilities, and architect and manage a data quality solution roadmap aligned with the target data architecture
- Partner with technology teams to ensure that supporting data quality management tools are implemented
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business data quality needs, define key metrics for enterprise data quality, and create an enterprise view of data quality to bring focus to the highest priority data quality issues
- Prioritize, scope, and lead cross-functional data quality improvement projects, with particular focus on datasets used across lines of business that impact safety and operational excellence
- Partner closely with data owners, data stewards, data scientists, and engineering teams to ensure the data needs of the business are met
- Minimum of B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, information technology, business administration, engineering, or other relevant field required
- 8 years experience in data management, data governance, data quality, metadata management, master data management, designing and implementing functional systems and data in a structured process, project management, and/or IT strategy planning or other related area
- 4+ years of leadership experience
- Experience in energy or regulated industries
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills with proven ability to establish and cultivate relationships with vendors and business SMEs
- Data management and data quality tool experience
- Project management / implementation of data management policies and standards
- Experience with relevant project management tools and methodologies (Agile, Design thinking, Kanban, etc.)
- Demonstrated executive engagement and presentation skills
