Job Description

Freshworks is looking for a Managing Editor to organize and lead daily operations of our fast-growing content and editorial teams. We are building a world-class content organization that excels at storytelling in many forms and formats to help introduce Freshworks in new ways to target audiences around the world.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity in a fast-paced, multi-team environment. In this role, you will guide content production and systems in support of a bold new brand narrative; standardize and socialize our new "content ops" across multiple teams; mobilize resources efficiently to deliver against strategy and performance KPIs; and continue to refine and iterate overall content strategy, alongside Freshworks' editor in chief and other stakeholders.

What you'll do:
  • Set up and manage multiple editorial calendars for our growing central content teams.
  • Using a new CMS platform, set up and manage custom workflows, teams, review protocols and other needed functions to support daily publishing.
  • Serve as internal liaison to multiple teams you'll collaborate with, including demand-gen, product, communications, and other groups.
  • Participate in story ideation and assigning to support multiple content properties and projects.
  • Contribute to the development process for a new thought leadership publishing platform.
  • Help draft, distribute and enforce editorial and copy style guidelines for internal and external contributors.
  • Help edit blog and thought leadership drafts, alongside the editor in chief and senior editor.
  • Help onboard and support freelance contributors.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in an editorial/content leadership role, preferably in a brand publishing environment.
  • Experience writing and/or editing for enterprise audiences within IT, CX, EX, and CRM organizations.
  • The highest journalistic and copy standards, and experience applying them to brand publishing.
  • Enthusiasm working in a highly collaborative, hands-on role with a collective team of editors, writers, marketers, and strategists.
  • Hands-on expertise with digital CMS platforms, content analytics, and other modern editorial tools needed to build and scale efficient, high-performing content operations.
  • Proven and reliable project management, collaboration, and communication skills.

Additional Information

The annual base salary range for this position is between:$120,510-$220,935 USD

Compensation is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to location, experience, job-related skills, and level. Bonus/equity may be available.
