Major duties include planning and preparing daily classroom activities; direct instructional services; maintenance of classroom materials and equipment; and daily record keeping. The position requires flexibility with respect to responsibilities at The Hope Street Family Center. All employees are expected to perform their duties in alignment with the vision and values of the organization. The person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction in the most cost-effective manner.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:

A minimum of 2 years of early childhood classroom experience preferred.

CPR and First Aid

A minimum of 24 units of coursework in child development including at least 3 units in infant/toddler development.

AA or BA in child development preferred; Child Development Associate Teacher or Teacher Permit preferred

Ability to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with individuals from a variety of socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds and at various organizational levels.

Skill in working independently and in following through on assigned projects in an independent and responsive manner under minimal supervision.

Experience in providing center-based child development services to low-income families and families from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Knowledge of normal infant toddler and pre-school development and early childhood education/child care practices.

Ability to promote emerging communication and early language and literacy skills as well as school readiness skills Knowledge of child abuse and family violence reporting laws.

Knowledge of Creative Curriculum Ability to write concise logical and grammatically correct reports.

Skill in organizing and maintaining accurate records and documentation.

Bilingual English/Spanish speaking and writing skills.

Child Development Associate Teacher or Teacher Permit preferred
