Organization:ABSMC-Summit CampusPosition Overview:Under the direction of the supervisor of the department, provides general clerical support in a high volume medical imaging center. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, answering phones, operating computers, scheduling appointments, screening patients, giving written and verbal instructions to patients, filing, requesting of prior imaging studies, completing patient registration,completes patient estimates and provides patients with a share of cost.Job Description :EDUCATIONEquivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:2 years medical receptionist experience, preferably in a radiology setting.

Working knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology preferred.

Basic computer/keyboard skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent customer service skills.

Attention to detail.

Ability to work as part of a team.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC EXPERIENCEAffiliate: Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, Department: Medical Imaging , 0-2 years experience, minimum 6 months work experience in a radiology department required

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, discounts and percent.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
