Medical Informatics Analyst, Senior

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Provide advanced analytical support for business operations involving claims, provider data, membership data and clinical data.
• Maintain ETL data processes supporting HEDIS and other clinical quality reporting efforts.
• Conduct independent analysis of high complexity under moderate supervision and guidance, develop analyses and reports.
• Develop documentation, create, and execute workplans for analyses of high complexity.
• Analyze clinical data and work with internal and external stakeholder supporting Quality Improvement activities.
• Design, build, and enhance data applications / repositories to support specific reporting requirements.
• Assists junior team members through peer review of projects, informal training.
• Contributes to team success by accomplishing tasks as needed.
• Identify business risks relating to report design and production

• MA, MS, in health science, quantitative social science, public health, health services research or business, or BA/BS with demonstrated equivalent work experience.
• Requires SAS Certified Base Programmer Credential with 3 years + hands on experience programming in SAS.
• Requires experience developing and implementing SAS programs in a production environment, comprehension of SAS macro language, and other SAS procedures, working knowledge of UNIX commands, shell scripts.
• Requires at least 3 years of experience in managed Health Care Health Plan or Medical Group setting focused on clinical quality data (HEDIS, AMP, STARS).
• Requires superior analytical skills - identify, analyze, research, and communicate findings with business including internal and external stakeholders.
• Requires ability to document processes, interpret technical measure components and work with non-technical clinical teams.
• Requires candidate to have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Requires candidate to be a motivated, self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience with EHR systems extracting or business data warehouses (big data).
• Proficient in MS office applications.
• Desired experience in Visual Analytic tools (Tableau, SAS Visual Analytics, etc.)
