Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Receptionist in Berkeley, California. This role focuses on various administrative tasks in the healthcare industry, such as managing patient data, coordinating with physicians, and handling insurance processes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to use their skills in a dynamic and fast-paced healthcare setting.Responsibilities: Manage the registration process for patients, ensuring all paperwork and demographics are complete and up to date. Coordinate with physicians and patients to send intake confirmation emails. Handle insurance processes, including submitting authorization appeals and extensions as needed. Utilize various technologies and programs for efficient operation, such as EMR, insurance websites, and phone systems. Manage office correspondence, including responding to voicemails, returning phone calls to patients, doctors, and insurance/billing companies, and creating and responding to emails. Schedule appointments and ensure all doctor and admin calendars are current. Participate in staff and department meetings and attend employee training series sessions. Assist other staff as needed and maintain cleanliness in shared office areas. Handle incoming mail, including opening, processing, and distributing. Perform any other duties as assigned. Requirements Possess a minimum of one year of experience in a similar role Proficiency in using Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, and Dentrix Dental Software Familiarity with Eaglesoft, EHR SYSTEM, and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) Ability to handle answering inbound calls efficiently and professionally Experience in managing billing functions Skills in creating charts and graphs Understanding of clinical trial operations Knowledge of electronic medical record systems Experience operating switchboards with 1 to 10 lines Proficiency in Salesforce administration Experience in handling insurance referrals and verifications, as well as insurance authorizations Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced work environment High attention to detail and organizational skills Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems High school diploma or equivalent education level Ability to maintain patient confidentiality at all times Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred Bilingual or multilingual skills would be advantageous.
