Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Receptionist in the Healthcare industry. This role is based in Berkeley, California, and involves a range of clerical and customer service tasks within a medical office setting. Responsibilities: Deliver excellent customer service to patients and visitors Welcome and assist patients in a detail oriented and friendly manner Accurately check-in and check-out patients, ensuring demographic information and insurance details are up-to-date Tactfully manage incoming calls, screening and directing them as necessary Respond to routine inquiries and ensure complex queries are forwarded to the relevant personnel Efficiently schedule and audit patient appointments Verify commercial insurance eligibility and benefits for patients Process authorizations for HMO and Medicare office visits Maintain a clean and welcoming waiting area, ensuring it is stocked with reading materials and refreshment supplies Perform a variety of clerical tasks and other reception duties as needed.If you are interested in this role, please call us today at (510) 470-7450Requirements Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within the healthcare industry Proficiency in receptionist duties such as greeting patients, answering calls, and arranging appointments Experience in patient scheduling, ensuring an organized and efficient appointment system Knowledge of medical billing procedures, with the ability to handle and resolve related issues Possession of a Coding Certificate is a must Expertise in medical coding, with a focus on ICD-10, to ensure accurate patient records Ability to maintain patient confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA and other relevant privacy laws Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Proficiency in using medical software and Microsoft Office Suite High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in Office Management or similar field is a plus TalentMatch® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
