Medical Records Clerk

Description Job Title: Medical Records ClerkLocation: San Francisco, CA (In-Person)We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual for the position of Medical Records Clerk in our busy San Francisco-based healthcare facility. This crucial on-site role involves managing patient data using Electronic Records Management (ERM) software, ensuring the smooth running of administrative processes, and maintaining the confidential nature of medical records.Key Responsibilities:

Gather, process, and maintain patient records in compliance with laws and regulations.

Use ERM software to input, update, and manage patient data.

Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure all data is accurate and up-to-date.

Facilitate the transfer of records to different departments as needed.

Assist in auditing patient records for official reviews.

Respond to requests for patient records, whilst ensuring the safeguarding of personal and medical information.

Regularly review, organize, and maintain electronic and paper files.

High School Diploma.

A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role within a healthcare setting.

Proficiency in using Electronic Records Management (ERM) software.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Familiarity with healthcare laws/regulations regarding patient record security and privacy.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of ICD-10 codes and procedures.

Experience with billing, coding, or health insurance.

Medical office assistant certification.
