Medical Records Clerk

Description Robert Half is currently looking for a proficient Medical Records Clerk on a contract basis for our esteemed healthcare client. The successful candidate will be responsible for smoothly and efficiently maintaining patient records in a healthcare setting. Compile, process, and maintain medical records in a healthcare setting in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner

Digitize and organize patient charts, ensuring all medical records are secure, accurate, and up-to-date.

Respond to requests for patient records, ensuring all releases are in compliance with state and federal laws.

Use electronic health records systems and databases proficiently.

Schedule, scan, index, and manage administrative tasks and patient data.

Perform quality checks on medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Communicate effectively with medical professionals, administrative staff, and patients, as necessary.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a similar role in a healthcare setting, usage of health records systems and databases is preferred.

Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to multitask.

Understanding of HIPAA privacy rules and the ability to handle confidential information.

Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.

Great computer skills: Microsoft Office, data entry, and administrative skills.

Ability to work independently and with a team.
